CCCC 2023

11.18.22 The Cognition and Writing Standing Group will celebrate our long delayed return to corporeal gathering in February with our sponsored panel: "Creating Containers of Support and Hope through Mindfulness and Other Contemplative Pedagogies: Fostering Transfer In and Beyond the Writing Classroom." We are also inviting an outside speaker (nominated by the group) to present at our annual Standing Group Meeting. We will post details on our Google Group as they become available. All are welcome, and we hope to see you there!


CCCC 2022

6.7.2021 Our 2022 Sponsored Panel will be: "Writing for All Bodies: Promising Uses of Embodied Cognition in Composition." Presenters are: Laura Miller, Allison Ellsworth, and Jackie Hoermann-Elliott. At our annual meeting, we hope to recover from a year of Zoom with a loosely structured gathering where we can meet group members with similar interests, develop research connections, and talk about topics that excite us.

4.19.19 Our first book collection, produced with contributions by members of the Cognition and Writing Standing Group, is recognized by the Boston Writing & Rhetoric Network on April 25, 2019 in Boston, MA.

4.2.19 The Cognition and Writing Standing Group will convene at CCCC 2020 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for one sponsored panel and our annual Business Meeting. All are welcome to join.


Keynote Speaker: Irene Clark

11.18.18 Irene Clark, Professor of English, Director of Composition, and Director of the Master's option in Rhetoric and Composition at California State University, Northridge is featured as a keynote speaker at the 5th International Conference on ESP/EAP/EMI in the Context of Higher Education Internationalization. 

 

The conference took place November 7-18, 2018 in Moscow.
